Solingen Germany
hunting/skinning knife
that has been carefully stored through the years.
The
impressive
"
stag/bone handle"
and
"mirror-like fixed blade"
are fine examples
of a
quality-made German knife from former days.
This early
PIC knife
includes the companion "Solingen Western Germany" Leather Sheath
, and the hunting set is from my personal collection.
The knives of Solingen Germany are known worldwide for their fine knife materials and attention to details, and this knife is no exception!
Note: T
his early Solingen knife was likely manufactured in Post WWII Germany in the late  1940's or 1950's.
We know: 1945 after WW II that Germany was divided into two sectors...the East and West, so many products were stamped West Germany or Western Germany to show the difference between the Democratic made products and the Communist made products.

:
The beautiful
real antler / bone handle
has
natural dark grooves & gnarly bone raised patterns
that you can feel.
There are
rich color tones
and natural light signs of aging (which is normal for real bone handles). This
excellent vintage stag handle
has secure
dark brown - dark red -
and
cream color
spacers
which genuinely compliment the overall color tones.
T
he
curved, bright
Brass cross-guard
is tight
along with the (birds head style)
shiny aluminum pommel which is secure,
so there is
No looseness.
This Solingen knife is in
"Great Condition"
for its age, and
feels secure
and
well balanced
when held in your hand.

his is a

llectible - quality German knife" in NEAR  MINT  CONDITION and is now ready for the next person to appreciate and make it their own!
BLADE

The
bright fixed blade
features
long
Blood Grooves
that measure
2  3/4" long
.  This hunting /skinning blade is not only

eflective but also has No blade edge nicks.
There is the well known
trademark logo scene of a "Mountain and a Hand pick"
on this
PIC
straight-back
blade and also the factory number stamping of:

This quality Solingen knife
is in
"
Exceptionally
Good C
ondition"
for its age and
has been
carefully stored through the years. The beautiful and rare knife is

n Great condition for being possibly 70
years old.
The approx.
4  7/8"
" inch blade is straight
with a
hefty blade spine
that measures
slightly over 1/8" thick on the spine.

is well known for producing quality knives and this vintage beauty is a fine example their early craftsmanship.
SHEATH
:
The
companion "
Western Germany"
leather sheath
(or case) is included and measures

inch long
.  This light brown
leather case
has
intact stitching
along with
shiny metal rivets
,  and a good
belt slot
.
The
fastening strap
works
but has some wear, normal for its age.
There is a
shiny
working metal snap
and this
roughback leather sheath is still supple
.
This companion vintage
Solingen Western Germany
leather sheath has some signs of handling.

he front is nicely tooled:   with the
"Full image of a Buck or Elk in foliage"
This beautiful Set has been carefully stored through the years, and
will make a great addition for the collector or outdoorsman in your family!
