    Description

Antique US Navy Military Bone Handle Jack Knife. This is a very old Military Naval Jack Knife. This knife for its age is in very good shape. The bone scales are still in good shape. This model naval knife has been made from as early as the Civil War until now. The ones used during WWII are very collectable and made by several different companies. The ones made during the Civil War were mostly made in Sheffield England more rare ones were made in the US. This one I believe looks more like the ones made during the Civil War era because of its construction like the iron fittings such as the bolster, bail and pins. It is also larger and much beefier than the later ones made during WWII. The blade is in good shape especially for its age. It is a little stiff when opening and when open has some wobble and doesn't seat solidly straight up. Its has some play as you can see the range in the last four pictures. The knife has two very neat crossed anchors stamped into the blades tang. If this knife was made during the Civil War and was made in the United States instead of Sheffield England it would be very rare. Blade Length just over 3 1/2" close length 4 1/2" fully open 8"
