    Description

Gorgeous rare benitoite and neptunite specimen. Great size for any collection. Not self standing, but it has plenty of matrix material at its bottom that could be trimed for better showing. More Benitoite specimens to come.
    Dimensions: 1.5 x 1 x .75in
Benitoite is the 7th rarest gemstone in the world and the California State Gemstone. Benitoite fluoresces bight blue to white under short wave UV light, but not long wave.
These specimens are old stock from my great grandparents rock shop "Scott's Gems" down in Beaumont, CA. They ran through the 1960's to the 70s and this collection has been preserved from then. Some material found have tags from the 50s, so some material could be even older.
