Early 1900 s Marbles Trademark Logo Copper Plate Printing Block

Here we have a beautiful vintage early twentieth century copper plate printing blocks for the Marble's logo. These blocks were used for printed images in the Marbles catalogs as well as in advertisements that featured Marbles knives and gear such as from sporting goods stores or major hardware outfits. This piece would have generally been the header over the main ad. It's in incredible shape and shows amazing detail for it's size. The lettering is of course in reverse so that when it's printed it's the correct way around. I've included an image in reverse so that you can see what the printed image would look like as well as a picture of an old Marble's advertisement to show how it would have been used. The advertisement isn't included in the auction but can be easily downloaded.
This is a large block measuring 3 5/5"" long by 1" wide and is 1" thick. It's made up of a copper sheet that's got a raised engraved and etched Marble's logo which is positioned over a steel base. Both of those are tacked to a piece of wood. This is an amazing example and would make an incredible addition to any Marbles collection. I've acquired a number of different blocks and will be listing them over the next several weeks.
