    Description

    Grandidierite is an EXTREMELY RARE MINERAL and gem
    that was first discovered in 1902 in southern Madagascar. The mineral was named in honor of French explorer Alfred Grandidier (1836-1912) who studied the natural history of Madagascar.
    This is one of the rarest minerals in the world, a fine green Grandidierite cluster in some matrix from Madagascar. It has very good translucency.
    A fine specimen, and is
    considered one of the 10 rarest gemstones
    based on numerous articles.
