Fabulous Indian Wars period, massive Sheffield Bowie Knife in great condition. This knife has been in my collection since 1979 and has never been subjected to cleaning, polishing, or other restoration efforts. The tang stamp reads

SHEFFIELD
The knife measures 13" overall with a 9" blade. The blade was poorly sharpened a couple of times but it is full and would polish up beautifully. The cross guard is cast of what I believe to be German silver. The bone grips are flawless with the exception of a chip on the top portion of the left grip where the bone meets up with the cross guard. This issue is clearly shown in one photo. The grips are securely pinned and are very secure to the knife. The original leather scabbard is in excellent condition with the exception of the stitching having been cut through by the blade.
