    Description

Excellent, nice sized specimen of Anorthoclase Feldspar with minor Quartz and Arfvesdonite from the Stettin Pegmatite. The Anorthoclase displays Moonstone schiller in a few areas.
The classic blue schiller is seen fairly well on one of the large crystal faces, and wetting it or adding mineral oil will enhance this, also noted in a couple of other spots, although can be difficult to discern unless held at just the right angle in the right light.
The rock is very clean considering most of theses found are weathered surface finds that have are heavily iron stained, fractured or other wise damaged in some way.
This sample is from the town of Stettin, in Marathon County Wisconsin.
Fluoresces red under short wave UV light (not pictured).
This type of Moonstone is only found in Marathon County Wisconsin in a four square mile radius almost all of which is private property. This was collected with permission from the landowner.
    381 grams.
    3"  length.
