    Description

    A classic vintage butcher knife.  Ten inch carbon steel blade, marked "ONTARIO KNIFE CO."  Sold as found, except for a light buffing with fine steel wool and a coat of linseed oil on the handle.  The blade has some wear and rust, but could easily be put back into use with a little work on the edge.  The handle looks like beech wood, with steel rivets, and is in great shape for it's age.
    They don't make 'em like this anymore.  My guess is that it was made somewhere between 1889, when Ontario Knife Company was founded, and 1924, when they started making the "Old Hickory" line of knives.
