    Description

    This Cold Steel Carbon V fighting knife, stamped SRK, came from the Western Cutlery plant prior to its closing in the mid 1980's.  The initials SRK stand for "survival rescue knife".  This knife is extremely popular with the military and tactical personnel.
    Cold Steel contracted with Western Cutlery to make the SRK fighting knife, which were stamped by Western Cutlery.
    This is an "original" Cold Steel Carbon V, not some later models made by companies other than Western.
    This knife has a massive thick blade,  a full 3/16 inch thick. The blade can be be sharpened to yield a razor sharpness.  These blades were brush finished, and not highly polished.
    The handles on this knife are checkered "rubber" with built in guard, and brass ferrel to hold the handle in place.
    The handle gives the user a perfect grip, since the handle is checkered.  The handle is extremely durable, and easily cleaned if used in the field.
    The sheath for this knife is custom made,  heavily stitched, with brass keeper strap, and fold over belt loop which would fit even the thickest belt width.  The sheath is in mint condition.
