    This
    Huge 11.75

    long
    German Bowie
    has a
    "Mirror-like" Solingen steel clip-point blade
    with the
    "Original Factory Edge"
    One "Paul Bunyan" size knife that has been carefully stored and
    displays that
    "old world charm"
    found with quality-made vintage German knives.
    From research, this early hunting/skinning knife
    was likely manufactured in Solingen Germany during the
    1950s - 1960s era
    The knives of Solingen Germany are known world-wide for their quality steel, fine craftsmanship, and attention given to details.  Famous for their skilled craftsmen and quality steel, Solingen has been known for decades, even centuries as:
    "The City of Blades"

    This beautiful vitnage Split-stag/ gnarly bone
    handle is well secured with 4 Brass pins
    and is in
    "Exceptionally Good Condition"
    The
    "real stag/antler bone handle"
    displays a
    lot of
    Natural Rich color tones
    and
    some nice light signs of natural aging, which occurs with real bone.
    The
    thick Spit-stag handl
    e is easy to grip and has
    impressive
    dark & light
    grooves
    and
    natural
    raised patterns
    .
    The Bowie knife was handmade by skilled German craftsmen
    and this
    "large" stag/bone handle feels heavy
    and
    fits well in hand.
    The
    Brass
    and
    Aluminum
    handle
    fittings are very secure
    and i
    n Great Shape,
    especially for their age.
    This beautiful vintage stag handle
    has
    tight multi-color composite spacers
    that highlights the
    natural design &
    rich color tones of the
    handle.
    This early German Bowie knife is designed with a
    heavy-duty (and shiny)
    Aluminum pommel that is well secured
    with a
    3/8" Brass tang nut.
    The
    curved
    Brass Finger-guard is solid and
    measures a hefty 3  3/16
    " inch long,
    which offers great hand protection.
    This rare original Germany Bowie knife
    is just waiting for the right person to appreciate its quality vintage design and make it their own.

    BLADE
    :
    Even though its decades old, this collectible vintage Solingen Germany fixed blade knife is one beauty you can be proud to own or carry.
    The large
    7  1/16"
    long
    steel blade
    has
    No blade edge nicks,
    still retains
    the "Original Factory Edge,"
    and I'll leave any sharpening of the fixed blade up to the new owner.
    The German steel fixed blade is
    very reflective
    as shown in photos.
    This
    "Mirror-like" steel,
    clip-point blade
    features an approx.
    3  1/4" long false top edge,
    that could be sharpened if desired.
    This outstanding early Germany knife has been carefully stored and in
    Exceptionally Good Vintage Condition
    , with a few faint surface rubs (possibly from taking it in and out of the sheath) and a few micro-size normal tiny age specks (that I had to use a magnifying glass to see)
    The
    large hunting / skinner Bowie
    blade is a Hefty 3/16" inch thic
    k" on the blade spine... (there is a quarter in one photo for size comparison)

    SHEATH
    :
    The
    companion
    vintage roughback leather sheath
    (or case) is included and has
    great intact stitching, secure metal rivets, a belt slot,  stiff throat area, and metal tip protector.
    This
    vintage Made In Germany leather sheath
    is in
    "Very Good Condition" for being decades old.
    The
    leather is supple and there is a very good working fastening strap with shiny metal snap
    .
    There are some signs of normal handling, light surface scuffs/wear (mostly on the back)
    and the
    overall
    length is
    11  3/4
    "
    inches long.
    The
    front of the leather sheath
    has the image of a
    :  Stag / Buck
    with
    Antlers
