handle
fits
comfortably in hand
and offers
rich natural color tones.
These
Exceptionally Good Condition
handle scales are well-secured with
4 Brass Pins,
and there is a solid
Brass half-guard
and
shiny
Aluminum
pomme
l
.
The vintage
Solingen-Steel fixed
blade
is
"Mirror-like"
with
No blade edge nicks,
and offer
s
long blood grooves
plus a
false top edge
(or swedge.)
From the blade stamping, knife style, and research...the Solingen Anton Wingen Jr. knife was likely manufactured around the
1950s -
1960's era.

Split Stag scales

BLADE
:
This beautiful vintage Germany knife has a mostly
"M
irror-like" Solingen-steel blade
that features
long blood grooves
(or fullers).  There is a
long false top edge (or
swedge)
that could be sharpened if desired.
The bright fixed Clip-point blade
does have some expected thin surface rubs/scratches and previous short sharpening signs,
consistent for the age.

There are
No blade edge nicks
and I'll leave any re-sharpening decision up to the new owner.

SHEATH
:
The
Original vintage leather sheath
(or case) has
great
intact stitching,
belt loop
and
stiff
throat area.
There is a
n excellent metal tip protector,  secure & shiny metal rivets,
and a
crossover-style working leather keeper strap
with
metal snap.
This companion solid scabbard
"Fits the knife like a glove"
and offers secure carrying in the field.
The front of the belt loop is factory stamped

The front is clearly embossed or tooled with:  OTHELLO head image logo
and the
word
OTHELLO
This early quality
German-made sheath
has been carefully stored
and
has a few light surface signs of faint handling / mild shelf rubs/ or light tiny scuffs,

"Exceptional Vintage Shape"
for being decades old.
The overall size of this
solidly made

leather holder
