This outstanding
Solingen Germany
hunting/skinning knife
includes the
o
riginal "Black Hawk" leather sheath,
and the combo is from my personal collection.
The
mirror-like steel
fixed blade features 2  3/8"
long blood grooves
and
real Split-stag/ bone handle scales
with
rich color tones.
The vintage knife set has been carefully stored and from research, I believe this Black Hawk Germany model is from
the 1950's era
.
The knives of Solingen Germany are known world-wide for their quality steel, fine craftsmanship, and attention given to details. This collectible Black Hawk German-made hunting knife
is no exception.

impressive German-made knife feels heavy, well balanced, and solid
when held in your hand. The georgeous handle scales are made from
real stag/bone
with
rich color tones
and natural light signs of aging.
These
gnarly bone handle slabs
are securely
fastened with
2 Brass pins
. There is a
heavy-duty
finger guard
that is firmly secured and there is
No looseness
on this quality knife.
This
beautiful Split-stag handle
has a unique
"Knight's Head" pommel end
with distinct designs of a knight's helmet
.
The butt-end is modeled after the age old
"Knights in shining armor."
One "Exceptionally Good" vintage knife & sheath...just waiting for the right person to appreciate them

BLADE
:
This quality German steel knife has a blade spine that measures a hefty 1/8
" thick.
There is also a
1  7/8" inch long
"false top edge
" that could be sharpened, if desired.
The
reflective hunting/ skinning blade
features
blood grooves
or fullers that measure
2  3/8" inch long
.
There are some faint surface marks/ rubs (that can be seen if you turn the blade just right in the light or use a magnifying glass) and a few light short surface scratches near the guard on the pile side.
This early
Clip-point blade
is "
Mirror-like"
and has a
pointed tip,  appears straight,
and there are
No blade edge nicks.
The vintage fixed blade is clearly stamped:
BLACK  HAWK  GERMANY
along with the
image of a "Hawk in flight"
.
This stunning Knight's Head vintage knife is in "
Exceptionally Good Condition"
especially for being decades old.
Both the quality and handcrafted details of the Stag / bone German bowie make it a great collectible knife, ready to use or proudly display.

and fits the hunting/skinning knife like a glove.  It has some light handling or minor shelf rubs.  The Germany leather sheath features a
metal tip protector
and the sheath
