An impressive 1970’s USA 498 custom “Bench Made” collection 49’er fixed blade hunting & skinning knife with older high carbon steel blade. This knife was made as a tribute to the 1849 Cal. Gold Rush era which features the look of hammered textured gold nuggets to hilt & pummel, this hammered texture gold nugget feature was a designed interest and tie-in to that Gold Rush era when a man’s knife had to be the best made. This was a limited production of this style Schrade knife , also with leather sheath. There are also two “Hallmark Stamps” of a crown & anvil on top end of pummel, placed there by an expert custom cutlery craftsman who with his talent, polished and crafted the perfect carbon steel blade and handle into a well balanced knife by placing his stamp as seen, he gave his personal approval to the high quality of this fine custom knife.  Blade measures 5 1/8” in length, 1/8” thick & 9 3/8” overall knife length.  Has been out of production long before the year 2004 and no longer available.  Please be advised that the pictured sheath is not the original for this knife.
