VERY RARE TSUMOITE with GOLD - 4 cm - BJORKDAL MINE, SWEDEN
This is a very good miniature specimen from an old collection. The rare tsumoite (bismuth telluride) is best viewed with the aid of a microscope where many tiny masses of the white silvery mineral are seen in a vein of metallic minerals that runs through the white quartz matrix. Tiny formations of gold are seen in the same vein. Coppery, brassy masses are described by Shannon as pyrrhotite.
