    Description

    This is a very rare Gerber hunting knife. From the research I did the knife appears to be from the 1950s. Around the early 1960s the stamp on the handle was changed to Gerber Magnum. I think around the late 1960s, Gerber added Armorhide to their handles to give it more grip.
    The overall condition of this knife is very good. It  has sharpening marks and scratches from use. The handle is in EXCELLENT condition. I tried the make the photos large so you can see everything  with this knife. The sheath has a split on the side a shown in the photo. The stitching looks good on the top and bottom, so I think a little bit of glue can fix the sheath.
    I am not sure what steel was used in these early Gerber knives, but I have seen reference to it being  M2 tool steel.
