vintage handmade Miniature WW2 THEATER DAGGER w/Pancake Sheath LETTER OPENER

Description

This is a vintage handmade miniature version of a WW2 Theater Dagger with sheath.  I believe it was made to be a Letter Opener.  The knife is older, maybe as old as WW2 while the sheath is more recent.  The knife measures 9.25" long with the blade being about 6".   A stiff tempered carbon steel blade with convex grind, spear point and unsharpened edges.  Aluminum guard and pommel.  Handle is made from stacked pieces of various materials like leather, micarta, aluminum and black fiber.  All tight.  The sheath is a handsewn copy of an original WW2-era "pancake flipper". Stamped VICTORY US 1945 on the front.  A nice set to open your letters with.
