Vintage L L BEAN INC. Freeport ME Carbon Steel Boning or Filleting Knife

Old  camp/camping knife from L. L. Bean, long known as an outfitter. Blade shape lends itself to filleting or boning, good for general purpose use. It has a carbon steel blade set into a one piece solid wood handle which is attached to the tang with two nickel silver rivets. It has been used, cleaned at some point and sharpened, most recently by me, so it is sharp and ready to use now. It has developed a nice patina. Looks like the blade has a very slight bend to it. Like all carbon steel knives, it should be dried after use, and it's a good idea to wipe it with food grade mineral oil to prevent rust. Like all wood handled knives, it should not be put into a dishwasher - ever. See pictures for condition. Handle stamped "L L BEAN  FREEPORT  ME."
