    Description

This Robeson #20 fixed blade combat knife was issued during World War II to sailors serving on ships throughout the South Pacific.
With a 5 inch blade, these knives were used to cut various ropes, netting, and pilot's safety belting while onboard.
This knife is stamped USN on the back side of the blade tang area, indicating its origin and use.
The blade is outstanding, totally full, with polished blade, and no signs of poor sharpening, or rusting.  Some slight areas of blade surface pitting throughout.
The front of the blade is stamped:  Robeson Shuredge NO. 20.
(it would be a companion piece of the Robeson Shuredge #21 also listed)
The sheath is excellent,  I believe made in Theater.  Sheath was with the knife when originally purchased.
The sheath is tooled to depict a fishing scene with leaping fish, pine trees, etc,  Because if was tooled with very limited leather craft tooling,  I believe it was done by sailors onboard a Navy ship.
An outstanding addition to any World War II military cutlery collection.
